Kids looked GREAT at the last game!!

Last Saturday, all the kids played really good. It was real good to see David Alba get a hit and Joe get a nice hit down the 3rd base line. I am real proud of our kids they seem to all understand where the ball goes if its hit in the outfield and a majority of them know where the ball goes when hit in the infield. I told all of you at our very first meeting that was my plan when we all started and its great to see their little minds working. We play the Giants again on Thursday but we first have practice on Wednesday at 5:30pm. So see you all on Wednesday. ***Parents I really need your photos to put together that end of year video. Please forward me any you think will look good.***

NO Saturday game...May 6!!!!

Due to having very few kids able to play on saturday, May 6 we are going to play that game on FRIDAY May 12 at 5pm on the big league field. So next week we have 3 games, Tuesday at 5 pm, Friday at 5 pm and Saturday at 10 am. See you all on Tuesday. Have a great weekend.

Game & Practice Schedule for the upcoming week..

Well this week we play the Dodgers 2 times, on Tuesday and on Saturday. On Thursday we will have practice at 5:30 at Pioneer Park. During this practice we will start to pitch to the kids for our last few games. I am going to look at trying to make up at least one of the games we had to call due to the rain, on or around May 22 or May 24th. That week we have no games, so I will check with the other teams to see if they are willing to do so. Parents just a reminder I need those photos so please foward me a few of your favorite pixs. Well see you all on Thursday, Chris will do the game on Tuesday. Oh yeah after the game yesturday several parents and coaches from the Angels approached me and said how much the enjoy playing our team. They say ALL our kids play baseball the right way and they can see how much fun they are having out there. That made me feel good that other people see how much fun our kids have. They are ALL doing a GREAT job!!!!

WOW !!! What a game we had on saturday. All the kids played great. They all ran hard and played really good baseball. This week we will have practice on tuesday and on thursday at 5:30 pm. Chris will hold it on tuesday since I have to work and then we will both do it on thursday. So see you all on thursday, ok...I need those photos parents. The more the better for our end of year video.

KIDS LOOKED GREAT!

Last night at our GAME all the kids played really good. They are finally starting to show huge improvements from the previous games. Most of the kids know where the ball goes so once they stop it. Well see you all on Saturday (I Hope), if it does not rain. It supposed to strom real bad on Friday night so since our field is not one of the best we may have to cancel. Once I know I will call you all and let you know. If our game is called due to weather we will have practice on Wednesday at 6:00 pm at the park. We will do a lot of hitting and a lot of base running. Well hope to see you all on Saturday. If not have a Blessed Easter / Passover or spring celebration. ( I hope I covered everything)

Anyone up for an Angels Game??May 13 or 27?

I am looking at the team getting together for an Angel game on either Saturday May 13 or May 27 at 7:05 pm. If you and your family would like to go let me know, I need a group of at least 25 people to get a discount price. The ticket prices will range from $9.00 to $13.00 depending on our seating location. Last year our team went late in the season to the Dodger game it was fun but it was done very late in our season. Well take a count of how many of your family members would like to attend and we can have a great time. Also let me know what game is better for all of you, I pefer the first game, on May 13 as it is against Seattle and the later one is against Baltimore. We will take a vote on next Saturday.

Today ALL the kids played great baseball. They are looking better and better every time we get toghther. There will be practice on Tuesday at 5:30 at the park. It might rain so lets cross our fingers and hope it doesn't. The next game is set for Thursday at the ball field. So see you all on thursday, I will not be able to attend practice. Well as I sit here at work, taking a break, I can see that it supposed to rain ( a lot) tomorrow, Tuesday. If its raining of course their will be no game, if we are rained out, we will have practice on Thursday at 5:30 at the park. Ok, I was hoping this would never happen, but due to my job, I cannot hold practice on Thursday afternoon. If any other father or parent can hold the practice please let me know asap. You all have my cell phone number, if I get no parent who can do it we will have to cancel practice for this week. There is also a good chance I will not be able to make the game on Saturday, it all depends on the protest occurring in the city of Los Angeles. So I know there will be more than enough parents at the game on saturday so I am sure you will all be able to gather enough of you to take the team on that day. Please call me if you can hold the practice on Thursday....

Our First Game...

Wow what a GREAT first game. All the kids played really really good. I hope they all had fun, I sure did. You should all be proud of them for all the hard work they have done in the past 2 weeks. Each one of them has come along just great in learning about the game of baseball. Ok Parents please send me those photos, about 3-5 from each of you would be great, with all of your help we will have a great end of year video. If you cannot make the game on your snack day please do a switch with another players family. Ok, we had a great practice last night all the kids hit the ball real good and they all ran the bases real good. Ok see you all on Friday night at 4:45 for practice. Practice will be a real quick one maybe 30-40 minutes. **reminder if you are on the list for snack bar duty please make every attempt to make it, we have it this Saturday between 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.**

Opening Day UPDATE!!!

Ok, its supposed to be a wet weekend so I really hope we can get this all in. If its Raining on Saturday there will be no opening day. ONLY IF ITS RAINING! I do have the uniforms shirts and the hats for all the kids. If its not raining please be at the ballpark in uniform by 8:30 am, so we can call get in line and get our shirts and hats on.

The TEAM photo is set for 1pm on sunday. I am not sure if it will happen if its raining. I will call all parents to update them once I get a call from the league.

PARENTS!!!!!, the following is for you.....

SNACK BAR DUTY. At the end of last practice there may of been some confusion in the snack bar duty. Every team is assigned snack bar duty. We need at least 4 parents during the weekdays and 5 parents for the weekends. IF THE TEAM DOES NOT SHOW UP OR IF THEY HAVE TO CLOSE THE SNACK BAR THE MANAGER OF THAT TEAM WILL BE SUSPENDED FOR ONE GAME. For those of you who played on this team last year, our manager was suspened for one game, but like I said at practice it was not noticed because we had 4 team coaches to take over the team. As it stands right now I have only had two parents approach me and say they will help once we get on a schedule and have the time change. I cannot stress enough the need for parents to complete their snack bar duty. PLEASE DO NOT PUT ME IN A SITUATION TO MISS A GAME. If you are given a snack bar duty and cannot make it please call me or my wife (Marsha), who is the team mom at our number. If need be we will work YOUR hours so I do not have to miss a game. I am sorry to stress this point but I do not want to miss any games, and since I have two boys on the team its just not right. Any questions please contact me ASAP.

Ok lil cubbies practice is set for thursday at 445 pm.. I will be there early so if you can get there at 430 we can start hitting sooner and get a lot done today. We have opening day rain or shine on saturday morning at 9:00 am. As of last night we do not have any uniforms. In fact what the team was told was no team in the league has uniforms yet, they have not come in. I will call later today before practice and see what we can do to help fix the issue. Saturday UPDATE!!!

Ok,,due to the real cold weather, we will not have practice today. I had a meeting this morning with the league and found out that opening day is next saturday at 9am. It should last only 90 minutes and be done by 1030. We will have a practice right after the event is over. As for other info, here it is...we need a TEAM MOM and at least 2 coaches to help for the team. That is per the league. We are scheduled to have pitcures next SUNDAY at a time to be determined.

Please gather up the red belt , red socks and white baseball pants for your son or daughter prior to that day. I will have the uniform shirts and hats for everyone by next thursday or friday at the latest.

As for practice this week, due to my work schedule this week we are looking at having practice on Thursday at 445 and either wednesday or friday. Then of course we can have one on saturday. Our first game will not be until the following saturday. Our weekday games will be played on tuesday and thursday and our games on saturday will start at either 9am or 1030 am.

Due to our rather large team (15 players) we had to let two players go to the Angels, we sadly say goodbye to Alyssa and Samatha Martinez. So we will see you two real soon when we play you...have fun as an Angel you have a real good coach on that team.

WOW....what a great practice tonight kids! You all rock. Ok...practice with your mom or dad or sister or brother the rest of the week. Remember make an L and step, throw and point. That’s it ....that’s all it takes for throwing a baseball. We have practice on Saturday at 11 am at the same park. If it rains it will be changed to late next week. Parents remember to go and buy your little ballplayer, their white baseball pants, red socks, red belt and red undershirt. If you buy them now you little ballplayer will be ready for opening day. Remember ballplayers practice, practice, practice!!!

Just a quick reminder all practices are at Pioneer Park, Dalton Ave & Sierra Madre Blvd. Please practice at home with you Mom or Dad or brother or sister on days we do not practice. The more your practice the better you get! PRACTICE! PRACTICE! PRACTICE! On Game days get plenty of rest and come to the ball field to have FUN!
